 In this article, I am going to show you steps that you need to take for you to be on the safe side healthwise.

The little bad habits that you entertain often grow into straitjackets and once a habit has grown to such levels it's almost impossible to kick it out without help.

1. Quit smoking and don't ever go back.

If you have never smoked before congratulations good for you, to those who smoke these statistics will blow your mind. According to the Centers For Disease Control And Prevention, cigarette smoking remains the leading cause of preventable disease, disability, and death killing a massive 480 000 people a year in the United States alone.

Smoking will make it impossible for you to have a healthy body, and quitting smoking will greatly increase your lifespan and your general health.

2. Exercise consistently.

Always set aside 20-30 minutes or more if possible a day to exercise, this is probably the most important ingredient of any healthy lifestyle and cannot be overemphasized.

The idea is to do it consistently without burning yourself out, you can choose your time of exercise but mornings are usually good as this is the correct time to give your body enough energy for the day.

These are some of the exercises you can do;

There are so many exercises you can do out there that can keep your body in shape, take note of the following precautions when exercising;

  • drink liquids when you are doing exercises that make you sweat.
  • always make sure weight clamps are properly fastened when lifting weights.
  • when walking or jogging outdoors know your area and surroundings very well.

3. Eat healthy food.

what is healthy food? What are your thoughts on this issue? Here is what I think a healthy food diet should include; 


Fruits are among the most important foods for a healthy body.

  • Bananas.

This fruit has the highest levels of potassium, they contain very good amounts of B6 vitamins as well as fibre.

  • Apples.

Apples contain many antioxidants, fibre, and are a good source of vitamin C. My doctor always told me that if I eat 1 apple a day I have fixed my constipation problems, thanks to the good fibre in apples.

  • Oranges.

A very good source of vitamin C, antioxidants, and fibre.

  • Avocados.

This is not a favourite of many for some strange reason but this fruit is packed with healthy natural fats, fibre, potassium, and vitamin C.

  • Strawberries.

This is one of my favourite fruits as it is so delicious and is packed with manganese, fibre, and vitamin C.


  • Chicken breasts.

Not my favourite meat because my jaws are easily overwhelmed by too much chewing but chicken breasts are very low in fat and calories and high in protein and various nutrients.

  • Lean beef.

beef is very rich in iron and protein, if you are on a low-carb diet be generous to yourself and take some fatty portions.

  • Eggs.

Although eggs tend to be high in cholesterol studies have shown that the cholesterol in eggs is pretty healthy.

4. Mental Health.

We cannot talk about a healthy lifestyle without mentioning mental wellbeing. Mental health relates to psychological, emotional, and social wellbeing. It affects the way we react to different types of situations and what decisions we take.

Here are a few ways to take care of your mental health;

  • Talk to others about your feelings, do not bottle things up.
  • When you feel stressed take a walk and let the healing power of nature and fresh air calm you down.
  • Always eat well, a diet good for your physical body is definitely good for your mental wellbeing.
  • Ever heard the saying, "Too much work and no play makes Johnny a dull boy" this is so true do not overload yourself with too much work, take a rest, and breathe some air your mind is always refreshed after some rest.

  • Listening to meditation music is another great way of relaxing which will benefit your mind and body immensely.
